Darija and Lukša Hropić are our dear friends from the island of Lastovo, and part of the extended family we are fortunate to create with.They are winemakers who work with one of Croatia’s most unique indigenous grapes, Grk, producing wines that carry the quiet strength and character of their island home.
What makes their work truly special is not only the wine itself, but the way it is created — slowly, honestly, and with deep respect for tradition, land, and the people around them. Being with them feels less like visiting a winery, and more like sharing a part of their life.

Today, he has become a true master of traditional peka cooking, preparing food slowly over open fire in a way that carries both patience and respect for tradition. Around him is a small world of his own — animals, land, and a rhythm of life that feels deeply grounded and real.

The Mimica family are dedicated winemakers from the Omiš region, deeply rooted in Dalmatian tradition and known for their role in reviving one of Croatia’s most important grape varieties — Tribidrag, internationally recognised as Zinfandel.Their story began with the rediscovery of this historic grape on the slopes above Omiš, where they developed vineyards that today produce wines expressing both heritage and terroir.
Through a careful balance of tradition and modern craftsmanship, the Mimica family creates elegant, full-bodied wines that reflect the character of the region — from intense fruit and spice to the depth shaped by the Dalmatian landscape and climate.
